The new Forester is available in Spain from 26,900 €. There are three versions available, all with the same gasoline engine and 150 hp manual gearbox.
In a future that the brand prefers not to identify, also will be sold with a diesel engine (more on this engine).
Even from the most basic “Classic”, the equipment is plentiful, it has xenon headlamps, heated seats and charger 6 CDs among the most notable. The next version, called “Limited”, also includes the sunroof and electric seats. The most abundant of equipment called “Limited Plus,” adds to the above seats, steering wheel and shift knob of leather and lined with a system that allows access to the car and boot without using the key. This latest version also can lead navigator for a price of € 2,100 extra.
All versions of the Forester have serial stability control (VSC).
It is a completely new car, which measures 4,560 mm long, 76 mm more than the previous model. The biggest change in the new Forester is the height (1,700 mm instead of the previous 1,590 mm).
With this height, the new Forester no longer has a style of bodywork next to a car, but to an SUV. In fact, it has a height similar to that of an Opel Antara or Citroën C-Crosser, but fails to go as high as other SUVs of its length, such as the Land Rover Freelander or the Honda CR-V.
It also changes the headroom to the ground, which is now 226 mm, 205 mm compared to the previous model.
The provision mechanics of the new Forester is the hallmark of Subaru: all have permanent total traction motors and type bóxer longitudinally arranged ahead of the front axle (image). Subaru refers to this system as “symmetrical” to distinguish it from the SUV, but have a transverse engine (at the side), or what have longitudinal but with a forward lateral from the gearbox to the front differential (image) .
The gasoline engine with 150 hp with the new Forester has been modified in several respects to which was the previous model. The changes are largely in the butt and in the inlet, to get better response at low and medium speed and reduce emissions of carbon dioxide. Since the summer is imported to Spain also with automatic change.
There is another variant of this engine, turboalimentada, which will not be sold in Spain. Outside is distinguished by the air intake on the bonnet leading (pictured), which cools the intercooler.
The new Forester the wheelbase is higher (2,615 mm) and changing the structure of the rear suspension (is paraleloramo deformable four of joints, rather than McPherson), which, according to Subaru, improves the utilization of trunk and stability of the car. The front suspension is still kind of McPherson.
